I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former twice world heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
Despite those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized British rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the novice is still one of the sport's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters participated in the traditional face-off, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
